Last words stated as per Washington post
The Ambiguous Weight of Richard Holbrooke’s last words ...THE WAR OF RELIGION
Condolences to the Richard Holbrooke family in this time of grief.IN the legal circles they have what is called a dying declaration.A dying declaration means that the words of someone who is about die in the scene of a crime can be used as evidence .The reasoning behind such a legal maxim was that when people are at the point of death they normally speak the truth due to the realization of their demise.
Though there has been debate of such a rule, it does say a lot about death declarations:one should pay attention to them.
Richard Holbrooke according to Washington Post called for the end of war in Afghanistan. The ambiguous part of the question is how?/
1.By a nuclear strike
2.By a peace armistice or peace deal
3.By surrender and withdrawal of US troops
For Holbrooke most say he stands for number 2.However for his bosses number one will do the trick.
So since that question was not answered or rather the statement was left hanging , one should look at the essence of that statement.
The heart of that statement is that the this is another War America has not won, a war which they must win to prove their superpower status.Yet it is the war that is ushering in the end of its superpower status, with Iran being the icing on the cake.
Even if there are laws that ban use of dangerous weapons nations will still use them.
Strange that International Law forbids the use of indiscriminate weapons unless one has been attacked by them( what a law.)
This is why these so called anti war laws will actually breed far disastrous wars because the weapons available today will make World War 2 an World war 1 look like the 100 years war.
Due technology ,war has become more swift and destructive despite the many laws that seek to ban war.
Yet I think it is not about technology a but about theology, the just war doctrine finished the law of warfare.
THE JUST WAR DOCTRINE IS UNJUST
This teaching came form Augustine , a so called Church Father who called for just wars that seek to maintain peace.Yet he is the same man who said that all humans have original sin and thus are wicked. So how can a wicked man make peace?
The problem starts there . When Man uses religion to justify his deeds ,you have to destroy the religion to stop his deeds.Religion can be used to justify greed ..if King Saul justified his greed of taking the animals of Amalekites for the sake of sacrificing unto God when God ordered him to kill all animals, who are the earthly leaders of today not justify their greed for resources?/
So came the Catholic church that swallowed Augustine teachings and when the Catholic church married the Sate that was it ,at least in Europe .The wars of the holy Roman Empire were holy because they were about preaching Christianity.Yet in the process of preaching they raped and stole form various cities.
The same Holy Roman Empire could not stop manufacturing weapons.
Then came Islam and Just war was just translated into Jihad/Holy War.Though many Muslim scholars try to paint gloss over jihad that jihad is different from just war, that is not true.ON reading the Koran you find Mohamed giving his followers rules of war and how to deal with those who surrender at the end of the battle.
So Just War is in Islam thus Islam is a baby of Roman Catholicism.
The Protestants left Rome but their heart was still Roman as one reads the teachings of Luther and Calvin they did not throw just war out of the window. Come the Anglican Britain and Protestant America which see themselves as sister Redeemer nations where they justify their use of force in the name of preaching the gospel??
Should true Christians support such wars that claim to preach the gospel with the gun??
The truth is the just war theory was and is used to blind Christians to the truth about the evil union between church and state and to hide the real agenda behind the wars :GREED AND MONEY AND POWER..the very things Augustine said he was trying to counter by creating the just war doctrine.
A look at Afghanistan Colonial History and one can see that nations are competing for power and wealth.
1. British Empire
2.Russian Empire
3.USA Empire
Being such a playing ground for empires, Afghanistan has never seen peace and has been in continuous warfare.
Holbrooke’s statement is enough to justify a very catastrophic nuclear attack if Afghanistan does not cease to be the thorn in the flesh of empires.
