Discern the Sign of The Times: Will Christians Go Through The Great Tribulation?

Having dwelt on the historical origins of the pre tribulation rapture, I will endeavor to spend much time on what the Bible actually speaks about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and Saints going through the Great Tribulation in this article. We shall take a look at the teachings of Jesus Christ concerning His Second coming.

I believe that the pre tribulation rapture has been one of the greatest distortions of scriptures concerning The Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The Pre Tribulation Rapture is a not only a lie but a hoax that has been exploited by today’s Televangelists to make millions in book and movie sales.

Because of the Pre Tribulation Doctrine, many saints are blinded to the signs of the times that point to The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and as such disobeying The Lord’s command to watch.

I will endeavor to take a look at the issue of the Saints going through the Great Tribulation as I have already spent considerable time on the topic of the Rapture happening after the tribulation of those days in my article posted online… http://www.yesumulungi.com/Commentary/Comment45.htm

It is important to note that no piece of scripture contradicts the other in the Bible… If this happens as you do your study, then your premise must be rechecked. We also note that no scripture is of private interpretation and that the bible is self sufficient to interpret itself.

2 Peter 1:20-21
(20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation.
(21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Account of Daniel

The Saints go through the Tribulation…
First we take a look at scriptures that speak of the saints going through the tribulation during the time of the Antichrist… The Antichrist persecutes the saints and fights against them and this goes on until The Lord comes and judges the Antichrist…

The saints spoken of here are saints in the last days as Daniel is told clearly that the visions pertain to the latter days or last days. The New Testament confirms this when we read the Book of Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21 and the Book of Revelation…

Don’t let anyone deceive you, the Bible does not contradict itself, the saints will go through the Great Tribulation and face heavy persecution from the Antichrist…

The Saints Posses the Kingdom…but after the raise and fall of the antichrist…

Daniel 7:16-18
(16) I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
(17) These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
(18) But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.

Daniel was given prophesies concerning the last days and they detail the presence of a terrible beast government of the Antichrist and the saints being present during the reign of the antichrist…

The Antichrist shall make war against the saints until the Ancient of Days Comes…

Daniel 7:19-22
(19) Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
(20) And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
(21) I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
(22) Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

The little horn that speaks great things here is the antichrist that shall make war against the saints of God in the Last Days…so, brethren, don’t be deceived that persecution and the great tribulation will not be endured by the saints… The Antichrist makes war against the saints…until the Ancient of Days comes…that is for 3.5 years until the Ancient of Days comes and judges the Antichrist…

Revelation 13:6-10
(6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
(7) And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
(8) And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
(9) If any man have an ear, let him hear.
(10) He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

We see that this is confirmed in the Book of Revelation that the Saints endure the heavy persecution from the Antichrist… Saints, we better get ready; we are going to have to endure the 3.5 year Great Tribulation…

The Antichrist wears out the saints…

Daniel 7:23-25
(23) Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
(24) And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
(25) And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

This is clear evidence that the pre tribulation theory is false and the Mid Tribulation theory is a hoax. The saints endure the brutality and terrible persecution of the Antichrist. The fourth beast in the above text is representative of the Antichrist that shall make war against the saints for 3.5 years During the Great Tribulation…

The Antichrist is judged and the Kingdom is given to the saints…

Daniel 7:26-27
(26) But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
(27) And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

There is no Kingdom that is given to the saints before the Antichrist is judged. The Antichrist fights against the saints, then the Antichrist is judged and then the Kingdom is given to the Saints… This order of events is clear even throughout the book of Revelation… The Antichrist (Beast) rises out of the Sea, makes war against the saints, and gets judged when Jesus Christ appears and then the Saints are given the Kingdom…

The 70 Weeks of Daniel…

Daniel 9:24-27
(24) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
(25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
(26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
(27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

In verse 27, we see that the Antichrist confirms a covenant with many for one week and breaks this covenant in the middle of that week. It is the Antichrist that causes the abomination of desolation…in the middle of the week – 3.5 years. It is after this time that the Great Tribulation begins for 3.5 years and the Antichrist severely fights against the Saints of God…

The Antichrist takes away the daily sacrifice and does the abomination…

Daniel 11:30-32
(30) For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
(31) And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
(32) And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

The scriptures here confirm that the Antichrist takes away the daily sacrifice and causes the abomination that makes desolate… However, the Antichrist comes in by flatteries or lies and false peace programs… Some have argued that the ‘he’ in Daniel 9:24-27 is Jesus Christ…this is very wrong. The ‘he’ in Daniel 9:24-27 is clearly the Antichrist as we see in the verse above…

The Great Tribulation will be a time of purging for the people of God…

Daniel 11:33-36
(33) And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
(34) Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
(35) And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
(36) And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

This verse gives us the reason for the saints enduring the great tribulation. This will be a time for purging and to make them white even to the time of the End… That is why we read of the saints who come out of the Great Tribulation…

Revelation 7:13-14
(13) And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
(14) And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The Tribulation is for the Church, the Saints, The Elect of God, that The Lord will purge us of every filth and false doctrines. The Church has fallen into a place of sin and false teachings but during the Tribulation, The Lord will purify and purge His Church. Notice that these are saints who come out of The Great Tribulation…Yes, we endure the Great Tribulation. Don’t be deceived that we don’t…

Michael the great prince shall stand up, Satan is cast to the earth…

Daniel 12:1-2
(1) And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
(2) And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Matthew 24:21-22
(21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
(22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

During that time Michael the Archangel will standup and fight against the dragon and cast him to the earth. Then a time of great trouble will begin but for 3.5 years and Satan will give his powers to the Antichrist who will then fight against the saints for 3.5 years…

The devil still has access to Heaven where he goes to do no other business but accuse the brethren like in the case of Job. However, that time is soon over and he will be cast down to the earth…

Job 1:6-7
(6) Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
(7) And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-9
(7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
(8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
(9) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

Revelation 12:7-9
(7) And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
(8) And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
(9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:10
(10) And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Revelation 12:13
(13) And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Revelation 12:17
(17) And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Clearly, the restrainer is Michael and when he standup and war breakouts in heaven, Satan will be cast to the earth and then the devil will give his powers to the Antichrist, who then will persecute and kill the saints for 3.5 years…

The accuser of the brethren is cast out of Heaven to the Earth and then begins the Great Tribulation for 3.5 years… The times of Satan being cast to the earth are limited to just 3.5 years. The Devil also knows that his time here on earth is limited…

Revelation 12:12
(12) Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

How long will the Great Tribulation be…?

Daniel 12:6-7
(6) And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
(7) And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by him that liveth forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

The Timing given in the verse above is in context with the Great Tribulation and how long it will take; it is in line with the years that the fourth beast will persecute and kill the saints. It is in context with the Matthew 24:21-22 that those days would be shortened as Jesus Christ stated… The Saints will have to endure 3.5 years of the great tribulation… In the verse above we see that give as time, times, and a half, representative of 3.5 years…

Many shall be purified during the Great Tribulation of 3.5 years…

Daniel 12:8-10
(8) And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
(9) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
(10) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Once again in context with all the other scriptures we have studied, the many that will be purified will be made white during this time of trouble or the Great Tribulation time that the angel spoke about as being 3.5 years. The Saints therefore endure the great tribulation; they endure the persecution and even the killings at the hands of the Antichrist. Those who preach that somehow the saints will escape this ought to study this subject closely once again…

The Timing of this Great Tribulation is given again 3.5 years…

Daniel 12:11-13
(11) And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
(12) Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
(13) But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

The scripture above puts to rest the argument if the saints endure the great tribulation. We see that from the time the daily sacrifice is taken away and the abomination of desolation is setup there shall be 3.5 years or 1290 days.

Lets remember that this verse is in context with the all the other verses in Daniel chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. The one who takes away the daily sacrifices and sets up the abomination that makes desolate is none other than the Antichrist, the Beast, the Little Horn as referred the Book of Daniel and Book of Revelation.

Remember that the reign of the Antichrist can only be stopped by Jesus Christ at His second coming when He shall destroy the antichrist with the Sword that comes from His (Christ’s) mouth. This is also the time that the resurrection of those who have died in Christ happens and then we who are remaining alive are caught up in the air to meet The Lord and forever we shall be with Him.

Also notice that he states that those who wait until the 1335 days are blessed. Who are these he is speaking about who are blessed to wait until the 1335 days are over? It is the Saints of God which is you and me, not angels or some other paranormal beings. Pre Tribulationist always ignore such clear scriptures and think that those saints are some Israel but not the Church…this is a lie cause this scripture lines up well with the Book of Revelation and Revelation was written to the Saints – the Church of Christ.

The Account of Jesus Christ And The Apostle Paul

Saints are delivered up to Tribulation…to be afflicted…

Matthew 24:9-10
(9) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
(10) And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Luke 21:12-19
(12) But before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you, and shall persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake.
(13) It shall turn out unto you for a testimony.
(14) Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer:
(15) for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.
(16) But ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
(17) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
(18) And not a hair of your head shall perish.
(19) In your patience ye shall win your souls.

Jesus Christ clearly states that we shall be delivered up to tribulation and shall be killed and hated of ALL nations for His Name sake… Now, think about it, what causes ALL nations to hate the Church of Jesus Christ and persecute it? This hate is not just physical but Diabolical. It is hate from Satan that he fills men’s hearts to hate the True saints of God… Many will be offended and betray one another I believe partly because of the lies the Pre Tribulation preachers have told people that they will not suffer tribulation and when it comes suddenly, they get offended…

He that Endures to the End…Saints Called to Endure to the end…

Matthew 24:12-14
(12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Mark 13:13
(13) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Jesus Christ is clear here that those who will endure to the end are saved. This is speaking of none other but the Saints. We are called to endure during this time to the End and be saved… It lines up very well with Daniel’s account that blessed is he that comes to the 1335 day… A call for endurance is repeated in the Book of Revelation… The Gospel then must be preached to the entire world as a witness unto all nations, and then the end shall come.

I believe that there is going to be a worldwide evangelism once again by the saints of God as a witness unto all nations after which the end comes. Some Western so-called missiologists claim that the gospel has been preached in almost every nation on earth but I strongly disagree because what is being preached is most of the time a denominational gospel and an apostate gospel on the global Christian airwaves such as TBN. However, there is coming a time during the Great Tribulation that every nation on earth will have the gospel preached to them as a witness.

This is in context with Revelation 11 were The Lord send His two witnesses. The two witnesses are NOT two men in spiting fire in Jerusalem as many Left Behind-ists have wanted us to believe but are the saints from the Church – Two Lampstands and the Saints from Israel – Two Olive Trees…

Romans 11:24
(24) For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Revelation 1:20
(20) The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Revelation 11:3-4
(3) And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
(4) These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.

Revelation 11:7-9
(7) And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.
(8) And their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
(9) And from among the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations do men look upon their dead bodies three days and a half, and suffer not their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

Revelation 11:10
(10) And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.

Notice that their testimony is for 3.5 years and after which the Antichrist fights against them and overcomes them by killing them… When they are killed, peoples from all tribes, tongues, and nations do look upon their dead bodies and rejoice…

Jesus Christ warns us about the Abomination of Desolation…

Matthew 24:15-16
(15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
(16) Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:

Mark 13:14
(14) But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, let (him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains:

Luke 21:20-21
(20) But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.
(21) Then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains; and let them that are in the midst of her depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter therein.

Jesus Christ certainly referred to the Book of Daniel. We have to refer back to the Book of Daniel to read and understand prophesies therein especially concerning the Abomination of Desolation since Jesus Christ referred to it.

We know from our reading above, that the Antichrist causes the abomination of desolation in the Midst of the Week of the 70th Week of Daniel, which is in the midst of the 7 year ‘confirmed’ agreement. It is during this time after 3.5 years that the Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel and declares himself to be God then causes the abomination of desolation and persecutes the saints. From that time on, the Antichrist is given no more than 3.5 years which we normally refer to as the Great Tribulation.

However, one notes the instructions that Jesus Christ gives in the above scriptures when the abomination of desolation is setup… The instructions are to flee from Judea unto the mountains. I believe these instructions are specific to saints living in and around Jerusalem at this time… However, on the spiritual side, the saints every where are to seek God’s Will for where he wants them to be and what He wants them to do during this time…

Then there shall be the Great Tribulation…

Matthew 24:21-22
(21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
(22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Mark 13:19-20
(19) For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
(20) And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Luke 21:22-24
(22) For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
(23) Woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people.
(24) And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

After the abomination of desolation is setup as Jesus Christ has told us, then there comes the Great Tribulation. Now, one notices that The Lord has not spoken about the Rapture of the saints yet. And all Jesus Christ is speaking confirms what Daniel wrote and does not contradict it.

After the Abomination of Desolation is setup, there will be great tribulation and persecution against the saints or the elect. Jesus Christ states how those days will have to be shortened otherwise no flesh would be saved.

In the book of Daniel we read that from the time that the daily sacrifices are taken away and the abomination of desolation setup, there will be 3.5 years. It is clear that Jesus Christ was referring to the same days as being shortened which period is 3.5 years. There is no contradiction here but a confirmation and detailing of Daniel’s prophesy by Jesus Christ.

It is these 3.5 years of the great tribulation that we must endure for the Antichrist will fight against the church and kill the saints of God. Brethren, don’t believe in the Left Behind fables. They are just deceit and lies from Satan to blind the saints from properly discerning the signs of the times as Jesus Christ commanded us to watch.

The Day of The Lord…Jesus Christ Second Coming…

Matthew 24:29-31
(29) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
(30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
(31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mark 13:24-27
(24) But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
(25) And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
(26) And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
(27) And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Luke 21:25-28
(25) And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
(26) Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
(27) And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
(28) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Joel 2:31-32
(31) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
(32) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Joel 3:14-16
(14) Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! for the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of decision.
(15) The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
(16) And Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but Jehovah will be a refuge unto his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.

The Day of The Lord is the Day the Lord Jesus Christ Returns the Second Time. It is the Second Coming of Christ. It is the Day that the Resurrection of those who have died in Christ Jesus Happens. It is the Day that The Lord Gathers His Elect from the four corners of the earth. It is the Day that The Lord destroys the Antichrist at the Battle of Armageddon. Some tried to write about the time space between these events that happen on ‘The Day of The Lord’. I will not endeavor to do that in this paper as it is beyond the scope of this article for now.

However, we see that the Rapture or being Caught Up happens here as Jesus Christ describes it…immediately after the Tribulation of those days…then shall the sign of the Son of Man appear in all His Glory. We notice that the Coming of Jesus Christ will happen after the Tribulation of those days. It will happen after the Great Tribulation 3.5 years. This is when the saints receive the Kingdom. It is when the Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. I wonder why Pre Tribulation theorists get confused by this very clear statement.

They then turn around and want to twist scriptures to make Jesus Christ state things He did not say… Jesus Christ said that immediately after the tribulation of those days is when He returns… not before and NOT in the middle but after…this is clearly a Post Tribulation Rapture that is in clear context with the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation with no contradictions whatsoever…

Rapture at the Last Trumpet…
We see in the scripture below that the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. This happens at the 7th Trumpet which happens to be the last trumpet sounded among the 7 Trumpets in the Book of Revelation.

Remember Jesus Christ stated that He sends His angels with a great Sound of a Trumpet to gather His elect…

Matthew 24:31
(31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Apostle Paul when writing to the Corinthians about the same matter stated that…at the last trump, the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible, then we who are alive shall be changed… Paul and Jesus Christ are essentially speaking of the same thing… The Resurrection of those dead in Christ and rapture of the saints happens at the LAST TRUMPET!

1 Corinthians 15:51-52
(51) Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

In his letter to the Thessalonians, Paul writes to confirm the same issue that the resurrection of the dead in Christ and rapture of the saints happens at the Last Trumpet… In this case with the voice of an arch angel AND the trumpet of God; the dead in Christ are raised first…

Don’t believe the so-called Pre-wrath and Mid Trib theories that this sound of a trumpet is God’s Voice…that is nonsensical; God’s Voice in this case is NOT the Sound of a Trumpet. The Bible has clearly stated at the Last Trumpet which is the 7th trumpet in the Book of Revelation when the Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdoms of Our Lord Jesus Christ…

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Here at the 7th Trumpet is when the Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ. This is when The Lord returns the second time and conquers the armies gathered at the battle of Armageddon…

It also clearly speaks that after that ‘thy wrath is come’…The dead in Christ are raised to meet Christ in the air, the remaining alive saints are caught up to meet The Lord in the air and then the enemies of The Lord are dealt with…’thy wrath is come ‘ happens at this juncture…

Revelation 11:15-18
(15) And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.
(16) And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God,
(17) Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
(18) And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

The first resurrection of the saints who died in Christ Jesus happens immediately after the tribulation of those days, at the rapture, and at the last trumpet. The verse below speaks of the one and same event. The Resurrection of those who have died in Christ Jesus, and The Rapture of those saints who remain all happen in one event – The Second Coming of Jesus Christ…

Brethren, the scriptures are very plain, clear, and self explanatory. The Pre Tribulation Rapture and a Mid Tribulation Rapture are a hoax and not Truth. The scriptures we have discussed are overwhelming as evidence for the correct Bible Doctrine concerning the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

He who sets us free from the Antichrist is Jesus Christ…
The Rapture happens after the tribulation of those days, after the Antichrist fights against the saints and prevails against them, and after the Antichrist is conquered by Jesus Christ… He who sets us free from the yoke of the Antichrist is Jesus Christ at His Second Coming as we see in the verses below…

Revelation 19:11-15
(11) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
(12) His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
(13) And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
(14) And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
(15) And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Revelation 19:19-21
(19) And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
(20) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
(21) And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Revelation 20:4-6
(4) And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
(5) But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
(6) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

What about Those “Kept Out” of the Great Tribulation?

Revelation 2:21-22
(21) And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
(22) Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

The scripture above is one of the most used by Pre and Mid Tribulationist in their apologetics and support for pre tribulation rapture. However, one should note that the Bible does not contradict itself. Either one will try to use the two scripture out of context with the rest of the scriptures in the Bible or they will try to explain away all scriptures in the Bible on the subject.

The Pre and Mid Trib folks have used the technique were they try to explain away the issue of the saints who go through the Great Tribulation and are fought against by the antichrist. They explain away these scriptures as though they don’t have anything to do with Saints facing a war declared on them by the Antichrist which we see clearly in the book of Daniel…

However, from scripture in Revelation 2:22, we see that this woman called Jezebel is CAST INTO A BED with those who commit adultery with her, into the great tribulation. They are judged in the great tribulation. We see here that they Key Word in this verse is CAST. The Lord CASTS THEM INTO A BED, into the great tribulation. They are not kept through it but when the great Tribulation comes they are CAST down into a bed of Judgment.

Greek word for Cast
G906
ballō
bal’-lo
A primary verb; to throw (in various applications, more or less violent or intense): – arise, cast (out), X dung, lay, lie, pour, put (up), send, strike, throw (down), thrust. Compare G4496.

We also see that the same Greek word ‘ballo’ is used in Revelation 12:7-9 which means to throw down intensely or violently… The Devil was CAST down to the earth…so will also those who hold to the Jezebel Doctrine and commit adultery with her… They will be CAST into a sick bed into the great tribulation… They will be cast down… In otherwords they will fall in the Great Tribulation…

We see that in the Greek, the Word Cast has meanings like Throw, Dung, lay, Lie, Pour, Put, Send, Strike, Thrust… Another point often ignored is that The Lord was addressing Jezebel and the folks who committed fornication with her that if they repented not, He would cast them into a Bed…into the Great Tribulation…

Revelation 2:24-26
(24) But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
(25) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
(26) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

The scripture above further disapproves the pre and mid Tribulationists… Jesus Christ speaks to the rest of the Christians in Thyatira who hold not the doctrine of Jezebel. He promises them that He will add no other burden to them BUT they hold fast what they have UNTIL HE THE LORD COMES. We know that The Lord is coming a Second time and not a Third and Fourth Time. So the Christians will have to go through the Great Tribulation and wait until The Lord Comes.

Jesus Christ further promises those who overcome and keep His Works TO THE END, He will give power over the nations… So it is clear that in context of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ that The Lord was not speaking of keeping the Saints OUT of the Tribulation but preserving them through it that they be not given over to the temptations and evils of those days that shall be greatly multiplied.

The Lord will KEEP to Preserve you through the Tribulation…

Revelation 3:10-11
(10) Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
(11) Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

This is another scripture that is taken out of context by pre and mid trib apologists. However, if taken out of context then one would have to discard all the prophesies of Daniel 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 concerning the Antichrist making war against the Saints for 3.5 years.

One would also have to discard or ‘explain away’ the scriptures in the Book of Revelation that speak of the Beast making war against the Saints and against those who keep the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Greek for ‘Keep’…
G5083
tēreō
tay-reh’-o
From τηρός teros (a watch; perhaps akin to G2334); to guard (from loss or injury, properly by keeping the eye upon; and thus differing from G5442, which is properly to prevent escaping; and from G2892, which implies a fortress or full military lines of apparatus), that is, to note (a prophecy; figuratively to fulfil a command); by implication to detain (in custody; figuratively to maintain); by extension to withhold (for personal ends; figuratively to keep unmarried): – hold fast, keep (-er), (ob-, pre-, re) serve, watch.

The Greek word for ‘Keep’ – ‘Tereo’, with meanings, To Watch, To Guard, To Keep an Eye on, To Prevent Escaping, To Hold Fast, To Observe, To Preserve, To Reserve… In Context of all scriptures concerning the saints going through the Great Tribulation, the right meaning would be to preserve you through the Tribulation….

The right context of this scripture is that The Lord preserves us from the evils, sins, and temptations that happen viciously in the Great Tribulation. We are preserved from falling away during this hour of temptation. We see that The Lord had spoken about this as He taught us to pray and also when He prayed for the saints…

Matthew 6:13
(13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

John 17:15
(15) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

John 16:33
(33) These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus Christ was not praying that we should be taken out of this world but be preserved through and kept from Evil and Temptations that come to sway people’s hearts from Obeying Jesus Christ in times of great persecution and tribulation. So, these scripture in no way support a Pre Trib or Mid Trib theology but clearly speak of us being preserved through the Great Tribulation.

Other Scriptures that speak of Saints enduring Tribulation

We must through Mush Tribulation Enter into The Kingdom of God…

Acts 14:21-22
(21) And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
(22) Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

We Glory in Tribulations…

Romans 5:3-4
(3) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
(4) And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Tribulations cannot separate us from the love of Jesus Christ…
Romans 8:35-39
(35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
(36) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
(37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
(38) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
(39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am Exceedingly Joyful in ALL our Tribulation…

2 Corinthians 7:4
(4) Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

We Told You before That We Would Suffer Tribulation…

1 Thessalonians 3:3-4
(3) That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.
(4) For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

I John, a Brother and Companion in Tribulation…

Revelation 1:9
(9) I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

You shall suffer Tribulation…

Revelation 2:9-10
(9) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
(10) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days; be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

These are they that come out of the Great Tribulation – Saints…

Revelation 7:13-14
(13) And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
(14) And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Brethren, the evidence is overwhelming that we as the saints of God in Christ Jesus will have to endure tribulation. We have to go through the Great Tribulation. The Scriptures have to be fulfilled.
The Antichrist will wage war against the saints of The Lord for 3.5 years and we shall have to endure that. The Book of Daniel chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and the Book of Revelation all agree on this point and therefore we have NOTHING like a Pre Tribulation or Mid Tribulation…
The theologies of a pre and mid trib are creation and philosophies of men who only seek to make money out of them. Read and study the Scriptures for yourself and let The Holy Spirit who is The Spirit of Truth reveal these matters to you from God’s Holy Word.
